My Story
I first found out about Scentsy from a friend that was considering joining. The conversation started when I told her about how my one year old son knocked a burning candle on himself. Luckily, he was in footed pajamas so no hot wax fell on him, but that was the moment that my husband and I decided that we needed a safer way to make our house smell SCENTsational. At first, selling Scentsy was all about the "discount" I would get when buying Scentsy for my own personal use. I told my husband, Nick, "We already buy enough Scentsy, just for us, for me to be a consultant. Why not save the 25%?", and he completely agreed. So at the end of September 2013, I joined the Scentsy family after only knowing of Scentsy for a few months. When I joined Scentsy, I was a stay at home mom to my two babies and a wife to my amazing husband whom had recently gotten honorably discharged from the USMC. It only took 3 months of being a consultant to realize all of the amazing things that we could achieve through Scentsy. Near the end of December 2013, I decided that I wanted to do more than simply support my own habit. I not only wanted to be able to stay home with my babies, but I also wanted to help my family finically, instead of it all being on my husband. Once I made that decision, the $99 (plus shipping and taxes) that I spent on joining Scentsy was, and still is, the best investment that I've ever made. Joining Scentsy was a great investment not just because of the money that I could make, but because I made the investment in myself; I took a leap of faith and believed that I could do great things. Now, I get to party with my friends, meet new people, go new places, and bless others with what I have been blessed with. These are the things that I love most about owning my own business.
For the first year, Nick helped when he could with the things that go on behind the scenes. He helped me make samples, fold and label product sheets, and other miscellaneous tasks. In February 2015, Nick attended Spring Sprint as my guest and left as my business partner. Now, we get to spend more precious time together while coming up with new ways of spreading the Scentsy love, trying to build our Scentsy family, and blessing others. Through Scentsy, we have been able to strengthen our relationship and our business simultaneously. Scentsy is truly helping to improve our lives and the lives of others who have also taken a leap into this Scentsy adventure.
When I say that Scentsy is our family business, I mean my WHOLE family. Our two kids are very involved in our business, which just makes us love what we do even more. They help us do numerous things such as label and sort orders, make samples, bag orders, smell all the new scents, try all the layers products with us, and “try” out every single buddy that they can. I must say, they have each amassed quite the collection.
Now, our family business pays for all of the extra activities that our kids want to participate in, date nights, and vacations to see our family. When I first started as an Independent Scentsy Consultant to support my own habit, I had no idea that it would have such a profound impact on my life. I would never have guessed that we would be where we are now and actually have a story to tell.
